While attending the Bear Meet, we made time to visit the Ohio River Museum. We were very fortunate to see several private collections of Mound Indian artifacts; some believed to be dating back to the ice age, aproximately 15,000BC.
She has been working hard to get her split, and it is starting to look good.

The Atlantis Crown meet march-in was a blast, with US Olympian and NCAA champion Sam Mikulak as guest speaker, capped off by the local Junkanoo festival dancers; everybody was up and dancing including Audrey and her cousin.
We ended the gymnastics portion of the Atlantis Crown by attending the WVU Mountaineers inter-squad meet. These are wonderful girls who made the young gymnasts feel special with posters and autographs. Girls pictured include Lexi, Beth, Lia, Nicolette, Amanda, Robyn, Jordon, Brittney, but we thank all of them.

It was a good day at the 2013 Seasons Greeting meet with both girls on the podium

This was a terrifying skill for her, now she throws it with all she's got.
Confident and proud; after lots of hard work, she is finally scoring well on beam.
Lot's of energy in this back handspring leading up to another skill.
Can you find the gymnast in this photo? There are two. Each year we enjoy the WVGTC meet in Morgantown, WV, home of WVU and the Mountaineers. This year we stopped off at the University and gave kids a glimpse of the WVU Colosseum and Cary Gym to hopefully encourage a college education.

It's not just about gymnastics; we have fun getting there and enjoyed the indoor pool at our hotel; the complementary breakfast was also a plus with eggs, sausage, and waffles too! We also learned a lot about the history of our state visiting the Oil and Gas Museum in Parkersburg, WV.
That was a great vault; now that you nailed your first vault, you can try something a bit more daring with a twist.
Walk-in for Session 2, levels 5 and 6 of the WV State Meet.
This is not required for practice, just something she likes to do; Daddy is just glad there is a large foam pit below.

Vacation is just some place else to do gymnastics - Jekyll Island, GA
Practicing a level 7 vault; half-on, half-off
We spend a lot of time on trampolines, which really helps with our tumbling; and the kids just love it.
Level 5 gymnast prepares for her first meet; she will have to jump to the high bar, twice as high as she is.
Having some fun in the pool, working on flips.

Age 11 level 7 gymnast, Jodi, performing giants on the uneven bars at WV States, 2012.
The girls call this hair style their helmets, and by the time they finish with all the hair spay, it will feel like a helmet.
This picture tells a story of a girl who did not think she could compete at level 7, who then went onto the State Meet to perform a beautiful back handspring on beam and placed second by only .05 points.

Giants looked so far away at the start of the season, now Jodi makes them look easy at Open Nationals.

Jodi showing some flexibility on beam during Open Nationals at Walt Disney ESPN Center in front of the United States flag - what a beautiful sight!
Jodi performing her Level 7 beam dismount with USAG Open Championship Banner in the background - nice height Jodi!
Look at the height and airtime on this layout; the photographer had enough time to snap two pictures.
Another great picture with the American Flag and Jodi sparkling in her new leotard during her level 7 floor routine at the USAG Open Championships.
Which is sparkling more, her leotard or her braces? Sparkle is good when it comes in a smile.
Look at that height! Back tuck on floor.
Here we are, at our first Open National Championship, posing in front of the USAG banner.
Some elements of vaulting.
Level 6, front tuck dismount.
We really thank Coach Amber for her help with our floor routine. We are having a lot of fun with this routine. Look at those nice lines.
